Andrew Ford

Andrew Ford is a Managing Associate with Laughlin Legal with over ten years’ experience practicing tax controversy.

Andrew has a proven track record of successfully negotiating resolutions for hundreds of clients facing challenging tax issues with the IRS and numerous state taxing authorities. His highly customized approach has helped clients to achieve strong outcomes in difficult circumstances, saving them millions in tax obligations and penalties. His approach stems from the belief that each case is unique. Both a careful listener and a quick study, Andrew develops strategies to meet client-specific challenges and objectives to help ensure a more favorable resolution. Andrew places emphasis on ensuring that clients emerge from tax challenges with a stronger understanding of their business and tax circumstances with the goal of mitigating future challenges.

Prior to joining Laughlin Legal, Andrew was an attorney for a prominent Bay Area tax law firm, where he initiated and established the firm’s Estate Planning practice.  In his position as Estate Planning Attorney, Andrew successfully drafted Estate Plans for clients to both protect their assets and distribute their wealth according to their wishes.

Andrew has represented clients in state & federal courts – including U.S. Tax Court and Federal District Court. Mr. Ford also worked at Pricewaterhouse Coopers, LLP handling state and local tax matters as a member of their Tax Advisory Group.

Andrew enjoys traveling, and while at Ohio State University, he attended a study abroad program at Oxford University in England. He also attended a study abroad program in Rome, Italy while he was a law student. Currently in his free time, Andrew enjoys cooking, trying new restaurants, and going to hear live music, from the symphony to the Stones.
