Lanie Johnson

Lanie Johnson is a law clerk with Laughlin Legal and a licensed attorney in Washington and Montana. Her legal practice focuses on estate planning to assist clients in planning for the future, creating custom-tailored trusts and estate plans, and strategizing for efficient transfer of wealth. Lanie has built a strong background in client service through working in the legal industry before, during, and after law school. She believes strongly in bringing her best to her clients to help them achieve their goals and gain peace of mind.

While attending law school at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, Lanie externed at the King County Prosecutor’s Office where she assisted with cases in the Domestic Violence Unit. In law school, Lanie received the CALI ‘Excellence for the Future’ Award for her work in legal research, analysis, and writing. Lanie also served as a Managing Editor for Washington Law Review.

Prior to joining Laughlin Legal, Lanie gained valuable experience working at two regional law firms in the Pacific Northwest as well as working in-house at a large technology company. She gained knowledge and experience in property law, estate planning, intellectual property, corporate law, municipal law, and high-asset mergers and acquisitions.

Outside of the office, Lanie enjoys downhill, cross country, and backcountry skiing, cooking and food preservation, gardening, and hiking. She is passionate about health and wellness and runs a small farm with her husband, daughter and Australian Shepherd.
